Company Overview We are a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trusteeship based in downtown Phoenix. Our team is dedicated to managing bankruptcy cases efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Job Overview We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and supporting our accounting functions using various financial software systems. Your expertise will help ensure the integrity of our financial data and support our ongoing operations. Duties Maintain a general ledger for each bank account as well as multiple spreadsheets logging different transaction types daily Review and post daily receipts to debtor's cases, making appropriate transaction type and fee adjustments as needed Research all refunds and returned checks, preparing them for processing and resolving any ongoing issues before future disbursements Prepare cases which have been dismissed/converted prior to confirmation for final disbursement of any funds on hand Review all reinstated cases to apply the trustee's percentage fee to payments received while the case was dismissed Process stale\-dated checks on a monthly basis Prepare physical checks for in\-office deposits Prepare Final Reports for unconfirmed cases, file all Final Reports with the Court Assist the File Clerk with processing the daily mail and answering the phone, providing assistance to callers when able or transferring to appropriate staff member Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor Qualifications Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role Proficiency in accounting software and Excel Ability to perform 10\-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate transaction posting and financial reporting Excellent communication skills to support collaboration with supervisor and coworkers Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values precision, integrity, and efficiency in managing complex financial data.
