Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail\-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the accounting department by managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy across all bookkeeping activities. In this role, you will work closely with our Accounting Manager, supporting day\-to\-day accounting operations while gaining hands\-on experience across a variety of financial processes. Key Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and follow\-up on outstanding items. Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records in Sage and assist with data entry, recordkeeping, and financial reporting. Review invoices, receipts, statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and post journal entries in Sage as directed. Provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager or CFO as needed. Assist with month\-end and year\-end accounting tasks. Respond to internal and external accounting\-related inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Complete one\-off assignments and special projects as directed by the Accounting Manager or CFO. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business preferred. Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software. Experience with accounting software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. They should be comfortable handling routine accounting duties while also being flexible enough to assist with changing priorities and special requests.
