- Prior experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge, Concur, Trinet, or similar accounting and payroll systems.
- Advanced experience with financial reporting, account analysis, and development of Excel\-based reconciliation and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting annual audits, Form 990 preparation, and auditor requests.
- Knowledge of internal controls, accounting best practices, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff and coordinating accounting workflows.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of financial data and present findings in a clear and organized manner.
- Experience with multi\-department or multi\-program allocations, including payroll and shared cost allocations.
- Strong systems aptitude with the ability to streamline accounting functions through automation and technology enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including general ledger and month\-end close responsibilities.
- Lead the monthly and year\-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, amortization, depreciation, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare and review complex balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, payroll liabilities, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferred revenue, and other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and maintain monthly schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, amortization, accrued liabilities, and other recurring accounting activities.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness; identify and post expense reclassifications, accruals, and correcting journal entries as needed.
- Oversee grant accounting functions, including reconciliation of grant expenditures, maintenance of grant tracking schedules, preparation of reimbursable grant billings, and monitoring compliance with grant budgets and restrictions.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel workbooks, reconciliations, allocation schedules, and financial reporting templates to support accounting operations and management reporting.
- Manage payroll accounting functions, including reconciliation of payroll reports to the general ledger, employee allocations across programs and grants, payroll accruals, and payroll\-related journal entries.
- Partner with department leaders to review financial activity, monitor grant spending, and assist with forecasting, budget\-to\-actual analysis, and expense coding accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, audit workpapers, and other reports for leadership, auditors, grantors, and external stakeholders.
- Support the annual audit and Form 990 preparation process by preparing requested schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, enhance reconciliation processes, and increase efficiency through automation and improved use of technology.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and serve as a resource for complex accounting questions, reconciliations, and system processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), grant requirements, internal policies, and applicable financial regulations.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer with special projects, financial analysis, budgeting activities, and other strategic accounting initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance and accounting operations of the organization.

Job Summary:
The Analyst and Administrator is a key member of the Administration (Accounting) team who provides both financial and administrative support to advance the organization’s mission. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for assisting with essential accounting functions—including payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting—while also supporting the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership with board coordination, executive\-level administrative tasks, and special projects.
This role requires a highly organized, detail\-oriented professional with strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business systems, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced, hybrid work environment. The Analyst and Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations, smooth coordination of board and committee activities, and effective executive support.
