- Examine and evaluate a variety of information to determine correctness, completeness, and adherence to program requirements; verify and correct information as needed
- Utilize computer software and databases to input, maintain, retrieve, and organize volunteer and program information and generate reports
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records related to volunteer scheduling, participation, communications, purchasing, and program activities
- Maintain staff and volunteer calendars, assist with scheduling meetings and volunteer activities, and audit calendars to ensure accuracy and coordination across programs and events
- Create, edit, format, and revise letters, emails, reports, spreadsheets, forms, and other program materials using standard office software
- Assist with ordering supplies and materials, prepare purchase requisitions, track orders, and communicate with vendors regarding purchases, deliveries, and invoices
- Prepare and process invoices, vouchers, requisitions, and related documentation according to City and agency procedures
- Provide the public, volunteers, and staff with general and explanatory information; answer questions and resolve routine administrative issues within established guidelines
- Compile information and generate reports and spreadsheets; assist in organizing and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems
- Prepare and process a variety of documents according to established guidelines and procedures
- Operate standard office equipment and perform general clerical support duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Employees may be re\-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City\-wide emergency declared by the Mayor

- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Experience Requirement: Two (2\) years of clerical experience
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
- Licensure: By position, requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

This is an on\-call position, which means it is a part\-time, hourly role. This position will work about 20 hours per week and no more than 39 hours per week. The pay range for this position will be $21\.26 \- $25/hour. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
Location \& Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off\-site as needed. In this position, you can expect to work about 10 hours per week in\-person at 945 South Huron Street in Denver, CO, with the remaining hours being remote. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off\-site days. This position is expected to run through the end of the year, which is subject to change.

The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support for the Volunteer Program within Denver Parks and Recreation. This position supports volunteer coordination efforts through scheduling, calendar management, data entry, purchasing support, vendor communication, and general administrative assistance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail\-oriented, customer\-service focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
