Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail\-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, ensuring smooth operations and efficient case management. Your proactive approach and strong research skills will help facilitate legal processes, document preparation, and client communication. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development and strategy.
- Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Manage legal case files and document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate organization and accessibility of case materials.
- Conduct thorough document review and data entry for various cases involving estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law \& regulations, patent law, landlord\-tenant law, immigration law, and litigation matters.
- Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and maintaining calendars for attorneys and clients.
- Perform administrative duties including filing, transcription, proofreading, phone etiquette, and maintaining organized office records.
- Assist with client interviews and gather pertinent information to support case preparation while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong knowledge of diverse legal practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law \& regulations, patent law, landlord\-tenant law, immigration law, and litigation.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Experience with legal case management software like iManage and PCLaw.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed document review and proofreading with precision.
- Strong clerical experience including data entry, filing systems, document management systems, and administrative support functions.
- Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional interpersonal skills for client interactions.
