Our Associate Principal for Student Services will engage in challenging yet rewarding work in close collaboration with the building leadership team to positively alter the trajectory of our students' lives in every way. Specific Duties:+ Oversees student services division (deans, counselors, related services, and special education).
+ Works with the principal, associate principals, and division heads in preparing the master schedule.
+ Works with the school's problem\-solving teams using MTSS to increase student success.
+ Assists with the district summer school registration process and instructional program delivery process.
+ Works with the principal and other administrators to develop and/or provide professional development to individuals and groups regarding cross\-cultural competency, as well as review/modify policies and practices from the lens of diversity and equity.
+ Works with the school's staff, as well as the building and central office administration to achieve the district's instructional goals and operational priorities.
+ Develop and implement strategies to monitor and evaluate school\-wide progress toward eliminating the achievement disparities among students of all racial and economic groups.
+ Works collaboratively with the principal and associate principal for instruction on academic programs, course selection and offerings.
+ Assists principal and other administrators with the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of curricular and instructional programs.
+ Assists the principal and other administrators with supervision and evaluation of personnel.
+ Makes recommendations for employment, granting of tenure, dismissing staff, sanctioning staff members, and retraining staff members as appropriate.
+ Works as necessary with the appropriate central office administration personnel for Student Services,Teaching and Learning, Human Resources, Operations, Business Services, Technology, and Professional Learning.
+ Works with the principal and other administrators to create and implement programs to recognize the achievement of students, staff, and school.
+ Works with the principal, associate principal, assistant principal, and with appropriate personnel to develop and monitor the school's budget.
+ Assists the appropriate staff in facilitating the standardized testing program in the school and ensures that accommodations are met.
+ Ensures the maintenance and retention of all student records in accordance with district/state/federal policy.
+ Works with the principal and other appropriate administrators to provide leadership and assistance for the building safety and crisis team.
+ Works with building administrators to administer the building student screening process and ensure students are being served academically, socially, and emotionally.
+ Works with the principal and other appropriate administrators in articulation with the sender school districts.
+ Assists with supervision of evening and weekend school\-related events.
+ Assists in the administration of the school day and may be delegated to assume the duties of other administrators in their absence.
+ CBO Liaison.
+ Lead communicator to families using district methods of communication.
+ Promotes student well\-being and belonging.
+ In the absence of the principal, assumes the duty of the principal.
+ Performs other tasks assigned by the principal.
Qualifications:+ Presently holds a State of Illinois Professional Educator License with a General Administrator Endorsement or a Principal Endorsement;
+ Assistant Principal, Associate Principal, or Director level experience preferred;
+ Special Education certification preferred.
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 12 month assignment
