The Town of Erie’s Utilities Department is seeking two dependable, skilled, and motivated Distribution \& Collection (D\&C) Maintenance Technicians to join our hardworking team.
In this vital role, you’ll help maintain and improve the critical infrastructure that keeps our town’s distribution system, wastewater collection systems and other Town infrastructure operating safely and efficiently. Whether it’s inspecting lift stations, or repairing a broken water main, your work will make a meaningful difference — and every day will offer something new.

- Assists, performs and/or directs a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities to include sanitary sewer jetting, manhole maintenance and inspection, hydrant flushing and maintenance, repair water, sewer, and storm lines, valve exercising and maintenance, PRV inspections and maintenance, monitoring lift stations, and CCTV inspections of the utility system.
- Installs and maintains a variety of specialized and complex equipment related to distribution, collection, and performs light mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Operates heavy and light duty equipment to perform related maintenance and construction assignments.
- Performs a variety of heavy laboring activities including the use of hand tools, light power equipment and heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
- Performs or inspects distribution, collection and works with Town inspectors as needed.
- Performs snow removal activities either by hand, small equipment or heavy equipment as assigned.
- Performs data entry of information, maintenance logs and other data in spreadsheets and related software.
- Responds to customers and contractors inquiries and complaints.
- Prepares necessary records and reports.
- Performs a variety of duties that requires considerable knowledge of the use and wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Performs routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance activities on vehicles and equipment and maintains records of activities.
- Maintains a safe working environment to include working in traffic and congested areas, working in ditches and confined spaces and all work environments.
- Assists in the cleaning and organization of shop area.
- Assisting Meters with reading and maintenance, service orders, conducting turn\-offs and turn\-ons of residential and commercial water services.
- Assisting Streets with maintenance of roadways and signage.
- Assisting Locates with utility locates.
- Assisting in Town events preparation, operation and break down
- Level I certification in both Collection and Distribution from the Colorado Operator Certification Program Office
- Level II certification in either Collection or Distribution from the Colorado Operator Certification Program Office.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM
Employee must be able to work on\-call schedule as assigned and outside of normal working hours.*
