The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.
This position is with the Workers' Compensation Division (WCD). WCD administers, regulates, and enforces the laws and administrative rules governing the Oregon workers' compensation system.
This is a management service position and is not represented by a union.

- Manage and direct all activities of the day\-to\-day operations of the Resource and Technology Unit 15\-person team at the Workers’ Compensation Division which includes technology, administrative functions, communications, and training.
- Act as the information resource manager which includes working effectively and collaboratively with all partners and ensuring appropriate use of technology resources.
- Act as the Enabling Technology Manger for the division.
- Oversight of purchasing needs for the division.
- Managing all facility, inventory, and ergonomic needs for the Workers’ Compensation Division.
- Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience
- One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience building, managing, and developing effective teams
- Ability to establish clear goals, lead modernization efforts, and guide organizational change
- Experience with purchasing, budgeting, and financial management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non\-technical audiences
- Collaborative approach with a commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

- Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, an employee pay assessment will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered. The assessment will be based on the relevant experience, education, training, and certifications documented in the application materials. On average, candidates new to state service will most likely be offered compensation in the lower to mid\-level of the salary range.
- The salary range listed is the non\-PERS eligible rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6\.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.

This position is eligible to telework on a part\-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. The incumbent is required to report to the office every Thursday and at least one other day per week.
