Valley Light Gallery is celebrating our 50th year in the lighting industry. We are a small business where everyone pitches in to get the job done. We're looking for someone that wants to help wherever is necessary \- primarily in the accounting department. You will be the 4th person on our "office" team.

This is NOT a remote position, nor ever will be.

We are open Monday\-Thursday from 8am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 4pm. Closed Sundays and major holidays. Ability to work Saturday will put you ahead of other candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones \- great phone voice and patience are important
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain status of purchase orders and parts.
  • Communicate with customers as to the status of their order
  • Help sales department as necessary \- especially Saturdays as applicable
  • Help complete A/P cycle
  • A/R as necessary (phone calls to collect $)
  • Assist with price changes including hanging new sales tags
  • General office upkeep
  • Purchase office supplies
  • Day\-end process assistance
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with a retail environment and inventory A\+
  • Basic accounting classes A\+
  • Common sense and logic are the most important requirements \- ability to see the "big picture"
  • Love of mathematics and understanding of numbers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Great attitude and ability to work with multiple personalities
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi\-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast\-paced environment while remaining calm
  • On\-time attendance required
  • Proficiency in using a computer for data entry, creating documents and e\-mail
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Very organized including workspace \- OCD is real

    Job Type: Part\-time

    Pay: $18\.00 \- $20\.00 per hour
