Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to post\-treatment care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail\-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient service while maintaining efficient office operations. You will play a vital role in supporting both the clinical team and administrative functions, contributing to a welcoming environment that promotes oral health and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance get break downs, we would like CDT code knowledge and assist with patient intake.
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Oryx, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance benefits, breakdowns and entering insurance into the computer system
- Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x\-rays, and maintaining sterilization protocols
- Manage medical records, update patient information in computer system and review documentation for accuracy
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and provide general office support
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental coding (CDT), and insurance verification processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with multi\-line phone systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and typing skills including 10\-key typing for data entry
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management practices
- Clinic experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred; strong organizational skills for filing and managing medical records are essential
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and care plans
- Dental receptionist: 3 years (Required)
- Dental assisting: 2 years (Preferred)
