Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to ensure consistent freight solutions
- Coordinate transportation management activities, including dispatching, carrier selection, and route planning
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to optimize freight costs and service quality
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, and AS400 platforms for data entry, tracking, and reporting
- Generate leads through proactive outreach, inside sales efforts, and lead generation strategies to expand the customer base
- Manage account portfolios by providing exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring client satisfaction
- Stay informed on FDA regulations, 3PL (Third\-Party Logistics), NVOCC (Non\-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and other compliance standards affecting freight operations
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales roles
- Sell transportation services and create solutions for clients
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes, contract negotiations, and logistics operations
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software and EDI
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a customer\-centric mindset to foster long\-term partnerships
- Build long\-term relationships with customers
- Ability to handle data entry accurately while managing multiple accounts simultaneously
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, carrier sales, dispatching procedures, and transportation planning
- Ability to adapt quickly to regulatory changes such as FDA regulations affecting freight handling
