    AFT \- U21 \- Steps 1\-3

    $63,833 \- $70,221

    Internal applicants salary will be based on Union negotiated calculations

    This is a full\-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the “NL” category of employment (non\-fixed work week) An AFT\- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee’s regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor. Job Summary:

    The Scholarships Coordinator reports to the Foundation Scholarships Specialist and is responsible for the day\-to\-day operations and processes involved in awarding privately\-funded scholarships to Ramapo College students. This role facilitates the important intersection between donors’ philanthropic wishes and Ramapo students’ success, and is critical to the College’s enrollment and retention efforts. The Coordinator promotes scholarship opportunities to students, stewards the application and review process, monitors continuing student eligibility and assists with the awarding of funds. This role interfaces with students, parents, faculty, staff, and College leadership. The Coordinator maintains the scholarship database and updates the relevant websites.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Promote scholarship applications to students and families: work with the Office of Marketing \& Communications to create marketing and promotional materials including social media, posters, fact sheets, etc.; attend student opportunities such as the Student Involvement Fair and other events; prepare presentations to special student populations, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Impact Coordinator to organize scholarship impact reporting to donors and prospects, provide student testimonials, or identify scholarship recipients to be featured in other avenues.
  • Maintain Award Management, Ramapo’s scholarship CRM, to manage scholarships applications, review process and awarding process. Update the CRM to include new scholarship opportunities in alignment with gift agreements, update or add donor profiles, update communication templates, and perform other routine maintenance.
  • Regularly and proactively monitor student applications, making adjustments as necessary during open cycles.
  • Monitor continuing student eligibility for institutional scholarships, regularly tracking and facilitating communications to provide timely notifications to students.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and families regarding scholarship opportunities.
  • Meet, organize, and communicate with campus review committees comprised of faculty, staff, and academic leadership to support their review of available privately\-funded scholarships. Coordinate the committees to facilitate, fair, timely, and policy\-compliant selection decisions.
  • Serve as the Foundation and College scholarships’ point of contact for the Office Financial Aid by providing notifications to credit awards to students’ accounts. Work with Financial Aid staff to resolve issues as they arise.
  • As private scholarship awards are made, notify students they have been selected to receive a scholarship and ensure recipients complete post\-acceptance requirements including written thank you notes, biographies, etc.
  • Check scholarship\-related data in Raiser’s Edge NXT, the Institutional Advancement CRM, to ensure entry is accurate. Provide updates as needed.
  • Supervise student assistants.
  • Draft scholarship gift agreements for donors, upon request from development officers.
  • Serve as Institutional Advancement’s main point of contact to maintain and update its related websites.
  • Staff Institutional Advancement events as requested, which may take place on evenings or weekends.

  • Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of one year experience in nonprofit or higher education administration, fundraising, donor relations, or a similar field is required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Award Management and Raiser’s Edge NXT, or similar scholarship and donor CRMs, is preferred.
  • Experience with Wordpress or other website tool a plus but not required.
