MEDICAL ASSISTANT / FRONT OFFICE HYBRID
A. POSITION SUMMARY
(a) The Medical Assistant / Front Office Hybrid provides basic administrative and clinical support to assist with the daily operations of the clinic.
(b) This role supports providers and front office staff with patient flow, scheduling, and routine clinical tasks.
(c) Work is performed under the direction of medical providers and leadership, with a focus on accuracy, organization, and customer service.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Calibri 12 pt)
(a) Front Office Support
(1\) Answer phones and direct calls appropriately.
(2\) Assist with patient check\-in and check\-out processes.
(3\) Collect copays and verify basic patient information.
(4\) Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
(5\) Scan and upload documents into the EHR system.
(b) Patient Communication
(1\) Provide accurate information to patients and route clinical questions to appropriate staff.
(2\) Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
(c) Basic Clinical Support
(1\) Prepare patients for visits as directed.
(2\) Obtain and record vital signs.
(3\) Assist providers with basic procedures and exams when needed.
(4\) Accurately document information in patient charts as directed.
(d) Administrative Tasks
(1\) Assist with filing, faxing, and general office tasks.
(2\) Support billing and administrative staff with data entry as needed.
(3\) Assist with prior authorization tasks under supervision.
(e) Clinic Maintenance
(1\) Clean and prepare treatment rooms between patients.
(2\) Restock treatment rooms and maintain basic supply levels.
C. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
(a) Basic understanding of medical office or customer service environment required.
(b) Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff.
(c) Organized and able to follow instructions.
(d) Ability to multitask in a very fast\-paced environment.
(e) Computer skills, including familiarity with Office 365, EHR and Practice management or similar systems.
D. EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
(a) High school diploma or equivalent required.
(b) Medical Assistant certification preferred.
(c) Must pass State of Utah background screening in accordance with R501\.14\.
(d) Must maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
E. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
(a) Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
(b) Follow direction from providers and supervisors.
(c) Maintain professionalism with patients and team members.
(d) Support clinic operations and patient flow.
F. WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be available for the following schedule:
- Monday 8:30 am\-7:00 pm
- Tuesday Off
- Wednesday 10:30 am\-7:00 pm
- Thursday 12:00 pm\-7:00 pm
- Friday 8:30 am\-5:30 pm
- Every Saturday 8:30 am\-3:00 pm

G. COMPLIANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY
(a) Follow all clinic policies and procedures.
(b) Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
(c) Performance will be monitored and reviewed regularly. 90 day probationary period.
