The Town of Groton Connecticut seeks a proactive, collaborative, and versatile individual to fill the role of Executive Assistant in our Department of Planning, Development and Public Works, specifically providing direct support to the Director. The Executive Assistant will drive operational excellence and fiscal oversight. In this pivotal role, you will provide high\-level support to the departments’ leadership team while overseeing departmental budget entries, project accounting, clerical workflows, and manage sensitive departmental data with discretion. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Director/leadership team of the Department and serves as the liaison between the department and other internal departments, as well as external stakeholders. Assists the team in the assignment, supervision, and oversight of work to all clerical staff. Manages financial records and produces state and federal reports for complex special projects. Assists and works closely with the Director in preparation of the department budget. Provides information to the public, state, and municipal agencies. Manages the office and establishes office systems and procedures; evaluates, implements, and revises to improve efficiency.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Eight or more years progressively responsible business experience in administrative operations. Graduation from high school with an additional two\-year business/secretarial curriculum preferred.
Criminal background, drug testing, and driving record checks required prior to employment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Must possess and maintain a Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in government/municipal business settings.
