The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live and virtual events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, compelling IU content, and seriously fun traditions. Additionally, the association develops and supports volunteer leadership, serves as a voice for alumni as the university evolves, and provides lifelong learning opportunities.
Job Summary
The Graduate Project Assistant will support the IU Alumni Association's Director of Affinity Engagement and the Affinity Engagement Team in executing key projects and initiatives. This role involves project management, research, communication, and event support to advance IUAA's affinity\-based alumni engagement strategies. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Department\-Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as essential project management support for the Affinity Engagement Team, including scheduling, note\-taking, follow\-up communication, and progress monitoring.
- Prepares research, presentation materials, and pre/post communication for internal strategy and progress meetings.
- Creates or refine project and administrative templates (e.g., activity logs, timelines, event planning tools).
- Drafts proposed standard operating procedures and protocol guidance for signature and large\-scale collaborative events.
- Liaises with Giving and Market Segmentation departments on collaborative projects.
- Supports additional projects as assigned.
- Currently enrolled as a master's, graduate, or professional student at Indiana University and for the academic year 2026\-27
- Bachelor's degree in philanthropy, education, sociology, public affairs, or related field(s).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with collaborative tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of IU faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of IU facilities and buildings.

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in\-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
