Holiday Rotation: Every 4th Holiday 6:00am\-2:30pm

Position Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the collection, processing, and preparation of biological specimens for laboratory testing. This position supports the overall function of the laboratory by performing phlebotomy, waived testing, specimen handling, data entry, and administrative duties with accuracy, professionalism, and strong attention to patient care. The Laboratory Assistant also assists with laboratory reception duties, Holter monitor registration and application, and provides exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and other departments. The role contributes to the laboratory’s mission by ensuring compliance with CAP, CLIA, and OSHA regulations while supporting a culture of quality and safety.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) or Certified Medical Assistant may be obtained but is not required.
- Phlebotomy experience or formal training desired.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication, empathy, and customer service skills.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and EMR systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Windows\-based computer systems required.

Compensation decisions are made based off of several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification and licensure as well as internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of their hourly range.
Hourly Range: $20\.65 \- $26\.94
