The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regulates privately owned electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water, railroad, rail transit, and passenger transportation companies, in addition to authorizing video franchises. The California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) Office of Commissioner Christine Harada (Executive Division) is seeking to hire two (2\) motivated Student Assistant to provide administrative and coordinating support to her team. As our Student Assistant, you’ll contribute to the flow of our daily operations including coordinating with advisors, division staff, and state leadership\-including California Energy Commission, California Air Resources Board and Governor’s Office. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive mindset will keep projects moving, communication flowing, and our team focused on what matters most. Employment
This is a part\-time, temporary, non\-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list. Students must be enrolled in at least: six\-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four\-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Work Schedule
F lexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (Winter, Spring \& Summer).
Up to 8 weeks full time, or 12 weeks part time for summer.
Compensation
$17\.00 to 23\.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications. Proof will be collected at the end of each Spring and Fall term.
- Understanding of office management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, manage confidential personnel records, safety data, and high\-stakes communications with professionalism.
- Knowledgeable of practices, business processes, and administrative operations in a large, fast\-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including leadership, staff, external partners, and campus stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), calendar management tools, and data entry systems.
- Ability to anticipate challenges, propose solutions, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining efficiency.
- Skilled in drafting professional correspondence, preparing reports, and facilitating clear, effective communication.
- Interest in energy policy, air pollution/climate pollution policy, environmental justice policy.
- Strong time management skills.

- Experience with financial or HR systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with institutional policies related to finance, HR, procurement, and data management is preferred.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a remote environment.
Students/Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI Work from Home Agreement.
