The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking friendly, detail\-oriented, and service\-focused individuals to join our team as Welcome Team Attendants. This role is central to the Kroc Center experience, serving as the first point of contact for members, guests, and event participants.
As a Welcome Team Attendant, you help advance The Salvation Army's mission by creating a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment where people of all ages feel valued, informed, and supported.

Position Details
Position Type: Part\-time, working up to 19 hours/week (Minimum of 10 hours/week)
Facility Hours: Monday\-Friday 5:00am\-9:00pm, Saturday 7:00am\-8:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm\-6:00pm
Schedule: Flexible scheduling including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as determined by program and operational needs
Pay Rate: $15\.00/hour
Position Overview
The Welcome Team Attendant supports daily operations at the membership desk by providing exceptional customer service. This role assists with memberships, program information, facility access, event hosting, and administrative support, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all.
What You'll Do
- Deliver exceptional customer service by warmly greeting members and guests, answering questions, and resolving concerns professionally
- Promote, explain, and sell memberships and services, connecting individuals to programs that best meet their needs
- Accurately enter and maintain records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including memberships, program registrations, reservations, and transactions
- Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of Kroc Center programs including aquatics, fitness, recreation, youth programs, and special events
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and direct inquiries to appropriate staff or departments
- Monitor facility access to ensure only authorized individuals enter and report safety concerns as needed
- Serve as an Event Host for rentals and special events, assisting with room setup, A/V needs, and guest support
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, daily reconciliations, reports, and mailings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional welcome desk area
- Maintain confidentiality and foster a positive, respectful work atmosphere with members, guests, and coworkers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age, per Salvation Army cash handling policy
- Prior experience in customer service, sales, or administrative roles preferred
- Friendly, professional, and approachable communication style in person and over the phone
- Empathy and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including low\-income and vulnerable individuals
- Comfort using computers, POS systems, and CRM software (or willingness to learn)
- Strong multitasking and time\-management skills with the ability to stay composed under pressure
- Basic cash handling skills, including accurate math and transaction processing
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs occasionally
- Work performed primarily in an indoor, front desk environment. Occasional exposure to varying temperatures (due to proximity to exterior doors), cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, or environmental conditions related to facility operations
