- Reach out to incoming students prior to Orientation to introduce yourself, answer questions, and provide guidance and support.
- Lead campus tours, highlighting key locations and sharing personal experiences.
- Take the lead in coordinating and executing the Orientation Leader Group Photo on Day 2, including logistics and communication.
- Develop and distribute detailed run\-of\-show documents for each Orientation session to campus partners and departments.
- Provide accurate information about university resources, academic programs, and student involvement opportunities.
- Perform logistical tasks such as check\-in and check\-out, setting up signage, and preparing materials.
- Support the preparation and organization of Orientation sessions and materials.
- Collaborate with Orientation staff and fellow leaders to ensure a smooth, engaging, and successful program experience.
- Use problem\-solving skills to address challenges in a fast\-paced environment.
- Uphold and enforce university policies, addressing inappropriate behavior when necessary.
- Always Represent Mercy University in a professional and positive manner.
- Complete additional duties assigned to support New Student Programs.
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at Mercy University
- Must have Sophomore standing (at least 30 credits completed, or on track to be completed by May)
- Must be in Good Academic Standing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of students, families, and staff.
- Active involvement in student life, including participation in student organizations, events, or other co\-curricular activities.
- Ability to take initiative, stay organized, and manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail.
- Interest in student affairs, event planning, or higher education, and a willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role.
- Must not be a current Orientation Leader at the time of application or throughout the duration of internship
- Develop professional communication and interpersonal skills by engaging with diverse groups of students, families, and campus partners in both in\-person and virtual settings.
- Gain an understanding of Student Life and New Student Programs, including how Orientation supports student transition, retention, and overall success in higher education.
- Build leadership, teamwork, and problem\-solving skills by working in a fast\-paced, team\-oriented environment and responding to real\-time challenges.
- Learn how to plan, implement, and evaluate large\-scale programs and events, including logistics, student engagement strategies, and program execution.
- Explore the use of technology and emerging tools, including AI, to support student outreach, communication, and program planning (e.g., drafting communications, analyzing engagement, or improving efficiency in event coordination).

Position Summary:
