Overview:

Make a difference in the lives of young people through hands\-on learning and leadership development. This internship supports 4\-H and youth programs that help youth build life skills, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging while exploring a wide\-variety of interests. Interns will gain meaningful, real\-world experience delivering programs, mentoring youth, and engaging with communities.

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values creativity, positive youth development, and community connection. This role offers a mix of in\-person programming and planning, with opportunities for flexible scheduling depending on program needs. Responsibilities:

1\. Program \& Event Support

  • Support and coordinate 4\-H summer camps and programs (STEM, Language Arts, Performing Arts, Day Camp, Prepare for the Fair)
  • 2\. Education \& Content Development

  • Develop curriculum for summer youth programming in rural Utah
  • 3\. Research \& Evaluation

  • Administer evaluations, and report program impacts for summer youth programming in rural Utah
  • 4\. Community Outreach \& Partnerships

  • Initiate service\-learning opportunities in rural communities

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Have an interest in the Extension program

    Advertised Salary: $16\.00 per hour ADA:

    The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).

    Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Additionally, indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment, and conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Bending, crawling, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
