Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience

- Reviews and redacts reports from law enforcement agencies and others, reviews Minnesota statutes and case law, and independently prepares documents for attorney review and filing with courts to institute and continue legal proceedings.
- May attend court hearings.
- Prepares pleadings, notices and other documents in cases from attorney notes and requests.
- Request materials such as audio, video and photos submitted from other agencies.
- Prepares legal documents for attorney signature and e\-filing with the court.
- Discloses all discovery to defense attorney or pro se defendant via data management system.
- Processes supplement reports.
- Creates and maintains files, both electronic and paper if necessary.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of general legal, administrative, and procedural matters involving the Office of the County Attorney
- Knowledge of legal research methods
- Knowledge of forms and terminology relating to the office
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and composition, and business math

- This is a Rochester, MN based position and is not remote eligible at this time.
- International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Current college student pursuing a degree in paralegal, legal studies, criminal justice or related field, or recent graduate within the last six (6\) months.
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3\) years.
Nature of Work
At the direction of attorneys and other supervisory staff, performs support work involving the knowledge and application of specialized procedures, statutes, regulations, and records pertaining to the Office of the County Attorney. Ensures that attorneys have the materials required for all court hearings, i.e pleadings, evidence and discovery disclosed. Performs tasks with minimal supervision and periodic review. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
