Customs Entry Writer

We are currently seeking a full time Ocean Import Clerk/Customs Entry Writer to join our growing team at our Gardena, CA location.
This is a position primarily responsible for managing and monitoring daily shipment activities, filing entry documents, tracking and updating the movement of freight, and communication with customers on status of their cargo.
Responsibilities
· Administrative tasks servicing the clients, providing customer service as well as maintaining revenues from the client base and contracted vendors.
· ability to analyze documents on hand, catch errors, discrepancies, and variable in routine matters and foresee potential issues to effectively apply corrective measures to resolve issue quickly
· Ability to maintain positive customer relations to communicate diligently, precisely, positively with courtesy without getting personal
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and colleagues
· Ability to take self\-initiative and not afraid to tackle complex issues
· Daily tracking and tracing of current and any new business via SSL, rail, CFS warehouse and port terminal sites
· Checking in with co\-loaders for any arrival notices that may be pending.
· Paying all arrival notice and CFS warehouse fees via PayCargo/Cargo Sprint
· Dispatching delivery orders to truckers and keeping them informed of any last free days at the ports or CFS warehouses
· Filing any ISFs for customers prior to containers sailing out of origin
· Filing any U.S. Customs Entries needed
· File break/down, classifying data entry, photocopying, scanning and some assembling of entries.
Minimum Requirements
· Minimum 3\-5 years experience in a Customs Brokerage with entry processing
· Working knowledge of dealing with CBP and other government agencies
· Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Accurate and rapid data entry
· Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi\-task
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Proven organizational skills
· Ability and desire to solely be accountable for handling established import accounts
