Overview:
Blackhawk is seeking a highly strategic and operationally excellent Chief of Staff to CEO. This role serves as the central coordination point for the Office of the CEO, ensuring seamless operations, effective execution of priorities, and high‑quality communication internally and externally. This leader will manage core Executive Assistant responsibilities while also acting as a thought partner to the CEO, and serving as a liaison to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate thrives in a mission\-driven, fast\-paced, entrepreneurial environment and excels at balancing strategic thinking with exceptional execution.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two days per week onsite in Pleasanton, California;
Responsibilities:
- Anticipate needs and ensure the CEO is fully briefed and prepared for meetings, commitments, and events.
- Serve as a technology\-forward partner to the CEO, proactively identifying opportunities to use AI and digital tools to enhance decision\-making and organizational effectiveness.
- Leverage AI\-powered tools and automation to streamline executive workflows, including scheduling, communications, research, and document preparation.
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives at the direction of the CEO, from scoping to execution.
- Manage/oversee a wide range of administrative and operational tasks for the CEO, including heavy calendar management, correspondence, expense reconciliation, and complex domestic/international travel.
- Serve as the CEO’s primary gatekeeper and gateway, balancing access with business needs to ensure maximum organizational effectiveness.
- Draft, edit, and prepare communications, presentations, talking points, and briefing materials
- Always ensure high\-quality representation of the CEO’s office.
- Partner closely with peers to coordinate Board and committee meetings, logistics, materials, and communications.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all Board interactions.
- Support the preparation, review, and timely distribution of Board materials in accordance with bylaws and governance standards.
- Act as an adjunct member of the Executive Team, facilitating agendas, follow\-ups, and high\-impact discussions.
- Manage executive meeting cadence: senior leadership meetings, all\-hands, offsites, and cross\-functional planning.
- Support interdepartmental coordination on travel, events, and strategic outreach.
- Provide support with confidential matters and personal logistics that enable the CEO to remain focused on strategic priorities.
- Support planning and coordination of occasional personal or family‑related events and engagements.
- Manage sensitive correspondence with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Prioritize competing demands, resolve issues proactively, and ensure follow\-through on projects and commitments.
- Maintain efficient systems for tracking CEO priorities, action items, and organizational workflows.
- Research, analyze, and make recommendations on issues requiring executive attention.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5–10 years of experience supporting C‑suite executives in high\-growth, fast\-paced environments.
- Demonstrated success in roles that combine strategic coordination with administrative rigor.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the CEO with authority and diplomacy.
- Strong relationship\-builder with internal teams, Board members, and external stakeholders.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
- Extremely organized, detail\-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities seamlessly.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience leveraging AI productivity and collaboration tools to reduce administrative burden, and increase overall efficiency.
- Experience in payments, incentives, or related industries a strong plus.

Benefits:
Salary Range for California Residents Only: $157,000 to $212,000\.00
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2026, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full\-time employees.
