Job Summary:
The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy University invites applications for a full\-time, multi\-year Assistant Professor/Clinical Director of Counseling position in the Department of Counseling, overseeing field experience for the School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and engaged team as the Department of Counseling prepares CACREP accreditation to further strengthen its graduate programs and student outcomes. The Clinical Director role includes an additional stipend and a course release to support administrative and programmatic responsibilities associated with field experience coordination. This position requires regular on\-campus presence. Limited flexibility for remote work may be available in alignment with departmental needs and responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions \& Responsibilities:
* Field Experience Coordination: Oversee practicum and internship placements for the School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling programs, including responsibility for ensuring students are appropriately placed in qualified training sites that meet program and accreditation standards.
* Teaching Responsibilities: The standard graduate faculty teaching load is 21 credits (7 courses) per academic year. This position includes a course release to support administrative and programmatic responsibilities related to the Clinical Director role. Teaching assignments will focus on field experience courses such as Practicum and Internship.
* Grant\-Funded Initiatives: Provide opportunities for student engagement in grant\-supported programs, including program development and student support services.
* Student Placement \& Site Relations: Lead and manage the practicum and internship placement process, including working directly with students to secure and finalize appropriate field placements that align with program requirements. Maintain consistent communication with clinical sites and oversee the placement process from initial coordination through completion of the field experience.
* Partnership Development: Lead the development and maintenance of partnerships with PK–12 schools and mental health agencies to support School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling student placements. Identify, cultivate, and sustain new site relationships that align with program goals and ensure access to high\-quality, supervised field experiences.
* Student Advising \& Mentorship: Advise and mentor graduate students, fostering their academic and professional development.
* Program Development \& Accreditation: Collaborate on program assessment, curriculum development, and efforts related to CACREP accreditation to maintain and enhance program quality.
