- Maintains accurate and up\-to\-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior\-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of human resources files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides general administrative support to the Human Resources functions, including preparing correspondence, memoranda and reports, performing reception functions, processing mail, performing data entry, ordering supplies.
- Assists with the planning and execution of special events. Assists in coordinating recruitment processes, including scheduling exams and interviews; proctoring examinations; and constructing rating notebooks. Prepares and distributes materials; communicates selection process details, processes pre\-placement physicals and backgrounds.
- Coordinates background check process for required classifications; maintains updates and clearance reports.
- Assists with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Program including notification of new and separated employees; monitors program compliance and maintains logs and records.
- Utilizes HR systems including NEOGOV and Tyler Munis to retrieve, organize, and analyze employee data; supports routine reporting and ad hoc data requests.
- Identifies workforce trends and contributes to data\-driven HR process improvements through ongoing analysis.
- May perform general assistance tasks related to workers' compensation.
- Participates in conducting onboarding and offboarding.
- City Manager Support: Provide administrative and logistical support for City Manager\-led initiatives, interdepartmental programs, and related communications, including scheduling, preparing materials, and coordinating logistics.
- Employee Events Support: Under HR Manager direction, assist with the planning and execution of Citywide employee engagement activities, including recognition events, trainings, all\-hands meetings, and special projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by college\-level coursework in human resources, business or public administration and/or related training.
- Three (3\) years of recent administrative support experience in a confidential office setting.
- Experience working in a public agency and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field are highly desirable.
The salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on the position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.
In addition to performance\-based merit increases, this position is scheduled to receive a 3% salary increase effective July 2026\.
