Gem Prep is a K\-12 college preparatory school. Our goal is to have all secondary students graduate from high school with an associate degree. Our elementary program builds a strong academic foundation for grades 6\-12\.

- Greet and assist students, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls; handle inquiries and provide information as needed.
- Sort, process, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Provide information about school enrollment and registration; distribute and collect forms.
- Maintain a welcoming and efficient office environment.
- Maintain student files and prepare documents such as reports, rosters, letters, and newsletters.
- Request and send student records as needed between schools.
- Enter and review administrative data for accuracy.
- Manage staff directories, substitute lists, schedules, and calendars.
- Perform clerical functions related to attendance, charts, and record keeping.
- Operate office equipment including computers, copiers, scanners, intercom, laminator, and phone systems.
- Assist with purchase orders and maintain updated inventory records.
- Support the School Operations Manager with clerical and organizational tasks.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure confidentiality of student and staff records.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in a school office is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, databases, and general office software.
- Strong typing, filing, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including strong telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the public.
- Reports to: School Operations Manager
- Evaluation: Performance will be reviewed annually in alignment with Gem Prep policies.
- Employment: At\-will, in accordance with district policies.
- Requirements: All employees must undergo a criminal history check and fingerprinting. Convictions under Section 33\-1208, Idaho Code may disqualify applicants.

The Receptionist serves as the welcoming face of Gem Prep, providing excellent customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors. This role manages front office operations, including phones, student records, clerical support, and communication, while supporting the School Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
