JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J\-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war\-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
Field Engineer I will perform a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems.
Job Summary \- Essential Functions and Duties
Under close supervision, a Field Engineer I performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. Work is at an entry level and is generally performed as a member of a project team.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher\-level engineers in obtaining technical information
- Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialty
- Perform fundamental engineering tasks requiring standard techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations
- Plan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques
- Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared
- Assist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies
- Perform other job\-related duties, as required
- Practical knowledge of air to ground serial telemetry, voice, and video data transmission.
- Knowledge in Maximo, tool control, logistics, safety, quality control, and preventative maintenance.
- Tower climbing, boom/scissor lift and elevated work platform experience.
- Network Plus, Linux Red Hat 8, and Security Plus certifications are highly desired.
- Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields
- Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform relatively routine engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions

Range Position Description
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Telemetry acquisition systems and Radio Frequency (RF) theory. The job duties include but are not limited to providing sustainment\-engineering, preventive \& corrective maintenance and real\-time operations support for fixed and mobile Telemetry tracking systems, digital data transmission systems, and network systems under general technical guidance.
Real\-time support duties include establishing end\-to\-end connectivity for pre\-mission checks of voice, video, and data links. Monitoring real\-time missions for abnormalities and correcting real\-time issues as they arise. It is necessary to understand how to use equipment such as RF spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, telemetry receivers, video distribution amplifiers, etc.
The candidate must have an understanding of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), also must possess working with various types of data transmission equipment and media such as fiber optics, twisted pair and RF coaxial cable. Must be experienced in interpreting, redlining engineering drawings, be able to utilize schematics to install, alter and repair equipment. They should have extensive experience terminating various types of fiber optics, low loss RF and other copper\-based cabling.
The candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and make decisions in pressure situations. Must be proficient with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and other relevant software applications.
The candidate must be able to work overtime including weekends as well as different shifts to accommodate various mission support objectives and periodic travel availability will be requirement. Will perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with established procedures (Local Work Cards), operating procedures, tech manuals, and other official documentation. Will create trouble tickets using Maximo database to track work performed as required by procedures. Regular interfacing and communication with the customers and counterparts through email, phone, virtual, and in\-person meetings. Communication tower climbing and ability to work at elevations exceeding 40ft is a job requirement.
Requirements \- Education, Technical, and Work Experience
An associate's degree in engineering or formal academic/vocational training, or military equivalent and four (4\) or more years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position.

Salary
The expected salary range for this position is $78,208 to $107,036 annually.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
