Support programs that strengthen healthy homes and thriving communities. The Extension Home and Community Department focuses on areas such as nutrition, financial well\-being, mental health, and family relationships. As part of USU's land\-grant mission, this internship offers hands\-on experience assisting with research\-based education and outreach designed to improve quality of life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and connect with community members in meaningful ways.
Our team fosters a welcoming, supportive environment where collaboration, empathy, and growth are encouraged. Interns have opportunities to work both independently and as part of a team, with some flexibility in scheduling depending on program needs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, public health, or family and consumer sciences careers.
This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah, with in\-person responsibilities in Weber County, Utah.
Responsibilities:
1\. Education \& Content Development
- Assist in the development of self\-guided activities designed to strengthen family and couple relationships (see https://hiddengems.usu.edu/)
- Assist with the implementation of the Strong Bodies program, a strength training class for older adults held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM
- Additional opportunities may be available to assist with occasional in\-person events
- Support research and writing efforts for articles focused on healthy relationships and mid\-life well\-being
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
- Have an interest in the Extension program
- Dependable
- Available on Monday and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in\-person for program implementation
- As much of this hybrid role is conducted remotely, candidates must have reliable access to a computer and internet
- Demonstrate strong writing skills
- Be able to work independently

This position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
