The California Department of Health Care Access and Information is seeking to hire one Student Assistant. The Student Assistant will support the Policy and Governance team within the Community Impact Branch at the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI). Under the direction of program staff, the Student Assistant will assist with administrative, outreach, data, and policy support activities for the Policy and Governance team. This is a cross\-trained position offering hands\-on experience in state government operations, health policy, and stakeholder engagement.

This is a part\-time, temporary, non\-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre\-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript) or DMV clearance. Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Work Schedule
Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
Compensation
$20\.00 \- $24\.31 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Good academic standing with a 2\.0 GPA or above.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide administrative and meeting support, including travel booking, reimbursements, logistics coordination, and member communication.
- Maintain meeting and task trackers, including agenda management, planning meeting scheduling, and Excel task logs.
- Support external outreach, including researching organizations, drafting outreach emails, and assisting with newsletters and program communications.
- Support with program reporting operations, including data entry and submission deadline tracking.
- Manage records and files, including organizing program materials, meetings notes, and shared drive documents.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

Working Conditions
Work will be performed in a hybrid environment.
Mandatory in\-office attendance on Wednesdays.

The decision to permit an employee to work from home is at the discretion of the supervisor or employer and may, at any time and with or without cause, unilaterally terminate the option to work from home.
