Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented bookkeeper to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Reconcile balance sheets and prepare financial reports that support decision\-making processes
  • Maintain detailed records of transactions, including debits \& credits, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed
  • Conduct monthly account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure all financial data is accurate and up\-to\-date
  • Support budgeting activities by providing relevant financial data and insights for planning purposes
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non\-profit environments
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with Quicken is a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits \& credits, and account reconciliation
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing is advantageous
  • Competency in 10 key types for accurate data entry; experience with technical accounting tasks preferred
