- Bachelor's degree
- At least two (2\) years of professional experience working in event planning
- Experience planning large scale events with 40 \- 100\+ attendees; demonstrated experience managing or coordinating meetings, programs, or projects
- Working knowledge of information technology including the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written communication skills; experience and comfort in public speaking
- Demonstrated history of interpersonal engagement with a broad range of customers such as students, families, faculty, vendors, and/or executives
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Exhibits high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

- More than four (4\) years of professional work experience in event planning
- Two (2\) years of experience mentoring or engaging with undergraduate college students
- Experience working in higher education or other large, multi\-faceted organization or corporation
- Experience working in admissions and/or recruitment in a higher education setting
- Working knowledge of software such as Airtable, Smartsheet, or similar database software.
The Scott Scholars Event \& Program Coordinator focuses on building community and belonging among Scott Scholars to promote student success and retention. This position plans, executes, and evaluates all Scott Scholar events; coordinates the Scott Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE Program); strategically plans and leads recruitment events and communication with new Scott Scholars; and maintains fiscal responsibility for all these activities.
This position continuously engages with and mentors students to help meet their goals and the goals of the Scott Scholars Program, Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering (WSCOE), and the Suzanne \& Walter Scott Foundation (SWSF).
This is a full\-time, 12\-month administrative professional position reporting directly to the Scott Scholars Program Executive Director.
The selected candidate must be able to work a standard full\-time schedule, with occasional evening and weekend hours as required. Additionally, periodic local and national travel is expected (4 or more times per year).

The Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) is a vibrant community composed of approximately 3,000 students across BS, MS, and PhD programs, supported by 145 tenure\-track and non\-tenure\-track faculty and more than 400 staff and research scientists.

Essential Job Duties:
+ Plan, execute, and evaluate events to achieve the goals of the Scott Scholars Program, including events focused on: academic support, leadership development, personal and professional networking, alumni relations, career exploration, and community engagement
+ Engage with the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation, CSU's Office of the President and Provost, and industry partners for high profile events, dinners, and group travel to continue to uplift the excellence of CSU's Scott Scholars Program
+ Plan, coordinate, and execute the Scott Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program for 100\+ students.
+ Support other student programs as assigned (student committees, enrichment experiences, study abroad, summer programming, etc.)
+ Plan, execute, and evaluate Scott Scholar recruitment events to increase yield and prevent melt of admitted students to the program and WSCOE/CSU.
+ Coordinate participation of Scott Scholars in WSCOE communications that utilize students to promote the college vision and value.
+ Provide service outside the scope of normal job duties, such as committee work, commission and/or council membership, serving as an advisor, coach, collaborator, mentor, or on a task force, community and/or civic engagement, search committee activities, participation in professional organizations to advance the university and/or college's scholarly and academic reputations, and volunteer
