The 1LMX Program Performance Director provides senior‑level executive leadership for the planning, execution, and governance of the 1LMX program. The Director drives baseline management, ensures rigorous compliance with policy and regulation, identifies and mitigates risks, capitalizes on opportunities, oversees budget stewardship, and shapes strategic roadmaps that align with Lockheed Martin corporate objectives. This role will transform both the organization and the 1LMX program, delivering capabilities faster, cheaper, and at higher quality for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership \& Transformation

1\. Define and champion an accountability model that enables transformation of the 1LMX program and team to deliver capabilities at speed and scale resulting in “fraction‑of‑time / fraction‑of‑cost” outcomes.

2\. Lead cultural change to a performance‑driven mindset and program level turn around initiatives that reset schedule, cost, and performance baselines, delivering measurable improvements within defined timelines emphasizing on‑time delivery and customer value.

3\. Advance the 1LMX \& EBDT governance model for releases, capability development, deployment and sustainment.

Program Planning \& Execution

4\. Own program baselines (scope, schedule, cost) and enforce baseline integrity throughout the lifecycle.

5\. Right‑size program cadence; mature governance, change‑control, and baseline management.

6\. Drive staffing, budgeting, forecasting, actions and cost‑control processes; approve variances and report financial status to senior leadership.

Risk \& Opportunity Management

7\. Implement a robust risk‑and‑opportunity process (identify, assess, mitigate, monitor, report) with monthly updates.

8\. Maintain a risk register; lead regular risk reviews and drive mitigation actions that improve performance and value creation.

Performance Measurement \& Reporting

9\. Define and maintain KPIs \& KCCs for program health; ensure regular reporting rhythms and attainment of all objectives.

10\. Build and maintain executive dashboards that enable data‑driven decisions.

11\. Conduct variance analysis, develop corrective action plans, and track resolution status.

Continuous Improvement

12\. Institutionalize lessons‑learned, best‑practice adoption, and standard operating procedures across the program.

13\. Lead training initiatives that build an emotional connection to the transformation mission.

Stakeholder Collaboration

14\. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

15\. Adjust roadmaps in response to emerging risks, opportunities, or strategic shifts.

16\. Serve as a primary interface with customers, senior executives, EO, BA, and external partners.

Compliance \& Governance

17\. Ensure all program activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.

18\. Support the 1LMX governance board and EO leadership with transparent, policy‑aligned reporting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strategic thought‑leader with a record of delivering innovative, agile solutions.
  • Extensive executive‑level program‑management experience across the full lifecycle (design, development, oversight) of complex systems; consistent P\&L delivery of $500M ‑ $1B\+ programs.
  • Proven track record of exceeding LRP commitments via earned value management.
  • Deep expertise in project‑management metrics and program‑health analysis.
  • Full‑Spectrum Leader who energizes, collaborates with, and develops high‑performing teams and world‑class leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, especially at the executive level; ability to synthesize complex information into concise briefings.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual/remote environment while holding the team to high standards.
  • Willingness to travel as required and to work extended hours outside of core hours to meet commitments.
  • Top secret clearance required
  • Desired Skills:

  • 10 \+ years of executive program‑management leadership with full‑lifecycle P\&L responsibility across one or multiple Lines of Business and Business Areas.
  • Direct customer‑facing experience delivering products, software, or services to the warfighter; proven relationship management with external program executives.
  • Demonstrated turn‑around experience: restored schedule, cost, or quality performance on large‑scale programs.
  • Change‑management expertise – consistent delivery of cost‑avoidance and savings; ability to “walk the factory floor” and translate enterprise processes into operational solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with Lockheed Martin Command Media structure and associated execution, risk, and opportunity policies.
  • Champion of best‑practice adoption (Lean, Agile, MBE) with measurable efficiency gains.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets, create ELT/Board briefings quickly, and provide concise status, risk, and remediation updates.
  • Experience converting mission requirements into end‑to‑end system solutions, accounting for design and technology‑maturity constraints; skilled in architecture, design, and interface definition.
  • Strong grasp of emerging technologies, modeling, and architectural guidelines for future system development.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Operations (EO) roles, responsibilities, and capabilities.
  • Proven track record of setting and executing a strategic vision
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate to secure buy\-in from senior leaders and cross\-functional teams
  • Experienced delivering cross\-LOB and BA solutions

Ability to Work Remotely:

Full\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $195,000 \- $322,000\.. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non\-represented full\-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6\.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
