Overview
We are seeking a temporary candidate that is proactive and detail\-oriented Office Clerical Assistant with a focus on CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) compliance to join our team. This position is entry\-level administrative support to assist with maintaining driver and fleet compliance records in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, and California regulations. This role supports the compliance team with documentation, recordkeeping, and clerical tasks. The position offers an opportunity for permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs. Employment is at\-will pursuant to California.
CDL \& Compliance Support
- Assist with maintaining driver qualification files (DQFs) in compliance with DOT and FMCSA requirements
- Track and file CDL documentation including licenses, medical certificates (DOT medical cards), endorsements, and renewals
- Monitor expiration dates for CDL\-related documents and notify appropriate staff of upcoming renewals
- Assist with data entry related to driver records, compliance logs, and reporting
- Organize and maintain accurate electronic and paper compliance files
- Perform general clerical tasks including filing, scanning, copying, and document management
- Answer emails professionally
- Prepare basic forms, spreadsheets, and correspondence related to compliance support
- Maintain organized filing systems while ensuring required confidentiality
- Communicate with internal staff, and supervisors regarding missing or expired documentation
- Assist compliance or safety staff with audits, inspections, and record requests
- Support scheduling related to physicals, training, or compliance appointments
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Entry\-level role; prior clerical or office experience
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn compliance systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with CDL requirements, DOT, or FMCSA regulations (training provided)
- Experience with data entry, filing systems, or document tracking
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
