Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a PROGRAM MANAGER\-GRADUATE PROGRAMS to oversee graduate programs, business operations, HR processes and special events in the Graduate School. To coordinate and attend student recruiting events.
Responsibilities:
1\. Works with staff to create and maintain database of appointments, training and funding information for graduate students. Ensures payments for stipends and tuition are processed in a timely manner.
2\. Assists with monitoring the Graduate departmental accounts and approving expenditures to ensure themes stay within budgets.
3\. Represents UAB and its thematic Graduate Programs at conferences and recruiting events. Special emphasis will be placed on increasing minority student enrollment in Graduate programs.
4\. Oversees recruiting events including Graduate and/or doctoral programs. Ensures successful events such as poster sessions, Graduate Student Research Symposium (annual) and New Student Orientations.
5\. Manages student progress, recruitment and retention for multiple thematic Graduate Programs.
6\. Provides executive level assistance to the Associate Dean and serves as office manager to optimize tasks and supervise daily operations of the Graduate Programs. Coordinates special events for Graduate students and faculty.
7\. May serve as KRONOS timekeeper editor for office staff.
8\. Supervises support staff to ensure graduate student appointments and other HR documents are processed in a timely manner. Assists with HR document approvals.
9\. Performs other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary: $45,395 \- $73,770\)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3\) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
