General Summary:
Blueprint transitional housing is a program dedicated to supporting youth aged 16\-24 who are experiencing moments of homelessness. Blueprint provides safe and inclusive housing for emerging adults in our community and the program is rooted in a strengths\-based, solutions\-focused, and trauma\-informed approach. The Blueprint Transitional Housing Overnight Relief position’s primary role is ensuring safety for Blueprint participants, building rapport, and data entry. This position offers the Blueprint Transitional Housing Live\-In position weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) and other nights off throughout the year.
This position oversees the residents in upholding house expectations including but not limited to quiet hours and curfew. This position responds to urgent resident needs, monitors the program’s communication platform with residents, supports conflict resolution, builds rapport with residents through check\-ins and safety rounds, updates a curfew tracker and coordinates with team members via overnight notes and monthly case conferencing meetings.
HRDC’s Blueprint Continuum is seeking an individual to support overnight shifts from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am primarily on Fridays \& Saturdays, but potentially including holidays and/or other days the Live\-In position team member takes time off. These positions are year\-round, shifts are usually 8 hours each.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Duties listed in order of importance; percentages represent approximate time spent)
1\. Resident Interactions (35%)
- Responsible for knowing and following Blueprint Transitional Housing policies and procedures.
- Enforce house expectations uniformly and consistently amongst residents
- Monitor programs’ communication platforms with residents
- Responsible for following up on day\-staff’s requests from overnight support regarding resident and/or house needs and noting actions taken in response.
- Frequently review staff emails and other forms of communication regarding current client status
- Provides crisis intervention and risk assessment for clients.
- Responds appropriately to needs and crisis situations, such as mediating basic interpersonal problems between clients and summoning emergency personnel, as necessary.
- Build rapport with residents by attempting to make contact with most residents in a shift
- Engages residents in a strength\-based, skill\-building, empowerment approach
- Responsible for maintaining accurate client records and nightly observation notes both using web\-based and/or computer programs.
- Review security systems and accurately document findings each shift
- Completion of Incident Reports as needed
- Cover two weekends per month
- Assists in maintaining facilities cleanliness
- Attend a monthly staff meeting with – in person or virtual (2hrs)
- Occasionally attend Blueprint House Meeting with residents and staff
- Demonstrated ability to provide crisis intervention and to follow the procedure in crisis situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to appropriately assess a situation and take corrective action, as necessary.
- Six months to one\-year experience working with at\-risk and/or vulnerable emerging adults
- Adheres to a strict code of confidentiality and privacy for residents
- Represents the organization professionally at all times
- Maintains and reinforces healthy boundaries and role clarity with residents
- Knowledge of services available to low\-income and homeless persons in HRDC’S Service Area through local social services agencies or the demonstrated ability to obtain such knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills. Familiarity with data collection programs, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs), and communication on Facebook Messenger.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Plans and organizes work effectively and ensures its completion.
- Demonstrates reliability by being present for work as scheduled, arriving and leaving on time and taking breaks in expected time frames.
- Interacts effectively with persons of diverse economic statuses, ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, and sexual orientations treating each individual with respect and dignity.
- Demonstrates team behavior and promotes a team\-oriented environment.
- Maintains positive relations with clients, volunteers, and co\-workers.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Basic awareness and understanding of the impact of trauma on human development
- Able to complete CPR training on the job
- This position requires regular handling of sensitive and confidential client and agency information. Unauthorized disclosure could harm client interests and the organization, and may also violate state and federal privacy laws. This position may have access to reports, records, and personnel files, and must exercise the highest level of discretion, judgment, and confidentiality at all times.

- The person in this position must comply with State and Federal regulations and laws, Agency (HRDC) policies and procedures, and specialized professional or industry guidelines/standards.
- Ability to regularly lift up\-to 40 pounds.
- Hearing and vision adequate for interaction with guests, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, reach, stoop, pull, sit, and squat.
- Ability to be awake for the entirety of the shift.
- Working in the common areas of the houses where residents live as well as an office room in the house.
