Job Summary

The Talib for DC Mayoral Campaign is seeking a disciplined, proactive, and spiritually grounded Special Assistant \& Special Projects Fellow. This role is for an individual who views excellence in logistics as a form of service and treats the management of time and resources as a sacred trust.

The Special Assistant will provide direct support to the candidate, ensuring that the movement and campaign remains responsive and focused on the needs of the people. If you are passionate about helping others, skilled in organization, and willing to work for a cause greater than yourself, this role is for you.

Core Responsibilities

* Executive Coordination: Own the master campaign calendar. You will book, manage, and confirm all appointments, ensuring the candidate's time is optimized for maximum impact.

* Professional Correspondence: Monitor and triage a high volume of campaign emails. You will draft professional, humble, and clear responses to neighborhood leaders, policy stakeholders, and constituents.

* Field Logistics: Direct and coordinate volunteers and staff on the ground. You are responsible for ensuring team members meet the candidate at specified locations for outreach and media events.

* Appointment Continuity: Conduct rigorous "day\-of" and "day\-before" confirmations for all meetings and speaking engagements to ensure 100% reliability.

* Special Campaign Projects: Support logistical arrangements for town halls, fundraising events, and community outreach efforts, ensuring every detail from venue coordination to post\-event follow\-up is executed with excellence (Ihsan).

* Commitment to Service: You are driven by a genuine desire to improve the lives of D.C. residents and are willing to sacrifice time and effort for the community.

* Administrative Mastery: Expert\-level proficiency in Google Calendar, Gmail, and Google Workspace. You must be comfortable navigating multitasking environments and mobile apps.

* Proactive Adab (Etiquette): Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You represent the candidate with a tone that is respectful, humble, and professional.

* Attention to Detail: You possess a "zero\-inbox" mentality and understand that small administrative details are the backbone of a successful movement.

* Integrity: You are reliable and consistent, honoring every commitment made to the team.

* Background: Students of Law, Public Policy, or those with experience in community organizing are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants influenced by Islamic values of service and justice are welcome.

Professional Development \& Compensation

* Monthly Stipend: $1,000 per month (1099 Contractor status).

* Law School Pipeline: Direct mentorship from Talib Karim Muhammad, Esq., including access to LSAT resources, law school application coaching, and networking with D.C. legal and political leaders.

* Leadership Opportunity: High\-performing Fellows will be prioritized for full\-time leadership roles as the campaign expands toward the General Election.

Pay: $1,000\.00 per month
