Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X\-rays, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Meditech, Epic, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Conduct insurance verification, explain treatment plans, and handle billing processes including medical coding (CPT, ICD\-9/10\) and collections.
- Maintain organized dental and medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with health information management standards.
- Answer multi\-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow efficiently.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to support daily clinic operations.
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing/coding practices.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic, Meditech or Athenahealth is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation review processes to ensure confidentiality and accuracy.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software systems efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in front desk or office management roles; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette; comfortable working in a fast\-paced environment with attention to detail.
