POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Recruitment \& Orientation, the Orientation Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of comprehensive new student orientation and onboarding experiences.

The Orientation Coordinator supports first\-time college students, transfer students, concurrent enrollment students, adult learners, and special populations by ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and informative transition to CCA. This position plays a critical role in advancing enrollment, engagement, retention, and student success through equitable, student\-centered programming.

This role also supports enrollment strategies and student outreach efforts using CRM systems including CRM Recruit, WebEx, EAB Navigate, and other institutional platforms.

The Orientation Coordinator serves as a central customer service and communication hub, ensuring students, families, and community members receive accurate information and a positive experience with the institution.

DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES:

Orientation \& Onboarding

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement in\-person, virtual, and hybrid New Student Orientation programs.
  • Assist with management and continuous improvement of the online orientation platform.
  • Evaluate orientation programming using assessment data and student feedback; recommend improvements based on best practices.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Advising, Financial Aid, Registration \& Records, Student Success, and other departments to ensure seamless onboarding.
  • Communicate directly with newly admitted students regarding orientation requirements, registration steps, and enrollment processes.
  • Develop and update orientation materials, presentations, scripts, and digital content.
  • Recruitment \& Enrollment Support

  • Support enrollment calling campaigns and outreach strategies aligned with institutional enrollment goals.
  • Create and manage events and communications through CRM Recruit and related systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between prospective students and campus resources.
  • Provide information regarding academic programs, enrollment processes, financial aid, and student services via phone, email, text, and in\-person engagement.
  • Represent the Office of Recruitment \& Orientation at campus events and special programming as needed.
  • Leadership \& Supervision

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Orientation Leaders and student employees.
  • Communicate job expectations and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Monitor call logs, outreach programs, and workload distribution.
  • Ensure quality customer service standards are upheld across all student interactions.
  • Maintain staffing coverage during peak orientation and recruitment periods.
  • Operations \& Administration

  • Coordinate orientation logistics including scheduling, space reservations, technology, and materials.
  • Track attendance, participating metrics, and program outcomes.
  • Support budget management related to orientation programming.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, accessibility standards, and institutional policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting purposes.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree with experience working in higher education, community\-based organization, or closely related professional setting.
  • Strong written communications skills.
  • Friendly and outgoing, with a very strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to assess a wide variety of situations quickly and determine workable solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be self\-motivated and reliable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, must be goal oriented and have ability to take initiative.
  • Supervision experience.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education, Psychology, or related field.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Banner, CRM Recruit, and Navigate.
  • Knowledge and experience providing information and referral to resources.
  • Knowledge of Enrollment Management, Student Success, and including Academic Success including but not limited to Recruitment, Financial Aid, Retention, and Student Support Services.

    SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

    Salary Range: Anticipated salary is $51,732\.85 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits.
