Ross School seeks a Substitute Administrative Assistant for hire April 6, 2026 through the end of the school year. TITLE: Substitute School Year Administrative Assistant to Ross Elementary School

LOCATION: Ross Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective oral \& written communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical ability
  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications
  • Proficiency in word\-processing and spreadsheets (Google suite and Microsoft Office suite), as well as database data entry and sorting (X2 Aspen). Ability to learn new software applications (or prior experience with Aesop, ParentSquare, TalentEd, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines
  • Ability to work harmoniously with administration, teachers, and students
  • Punctuality, problem\-solving, compassion, and flexibility
  • Ability to meet frequent deadlines promptly and smoothly, and to prioritize time\-sensitive issues or tasks
  • High School diploma or higher
  • JOB GOAL: To provide competent secretarial functions to maintain an effective and efficient operation of the school building.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as school receptionist: assist students, staff, parents, and visitors.
  • Communicates with general public, parents, and community associations.
  • Receives and routes telephone calls, emails/electronic messages, and mail.
  • Operates all office machinery: computer, copy machine, laminator, etc.
  • Maintains and updates office files, with a steadfast commitment to student \& staff confidentiality.
  • Creates good public relations with parents, public, etc.
  • Types school correspondence, reports, bulletins, memoranda, agendas, forms, and news releases, as needed.
