Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Support clinical procedures across various specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment for procedures like X\-ray imaging or medication administration.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and treatment details.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering reassurance, and facilitating smooth patient flow during outpatient and inpatient visits.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and processing referrals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology and anatomy to assist in patient assessments and understand complex medical terminology.
