Department Summary
The Building Bobcat Success (BBS) Ambassador position is a student leadership position in the Signature Academic Experiences (SAE) team within University College at Ohio University. This role will assist in coordinating, supporting, and implementing several programs launched by SAE to enhance the student academic experience at OHIO.
We are seeking a student leader who aims to advance their professional skills and experiences through hands\-on learning and development opportunities. The BBS Ambassador will work ten hours per week with an Assistant Director of Signature Academic Experiences.
The BBS Ambassador will be exposed to opportunities that will enhance their skills in targeted areas, which will serve them as they advance on their academic, personal, and professional journeys. Ambassadors will also enjoy flexible work schedules and one\-on\-one engagement from their assigned Assistant Director.
Responsibilities include:
1\. Event and Program Planning
a. Assist in the coordination, preparation, execution, and assessment of on\-campus SAE events
b. Serve as host to a group of students connecting with an Alumni over dinner
2\. Marketing and Recruitment
a. Design print and digital marketing materials using tools such as Canva and Adobe.
b. Advertise SAE programs, events, and initiatives utilizing in\-person and virtual marketing methods by partnering with key campus partners. Examples include:
i. Table at on\-campus fairs and events
ii. Utilize digital monitors in on\-campus locations including Baker Center, Alden, individual colleges, etc.
iii. Design social media posts for university accounts
c. Organize and deliver speaking engagements with classes, student organizations, and Bobcat Student Orientation sessions to promote SAE programs, events, and initiatives.
3\. Assessment and Evaluation
a. Collect data and feedback on SAE programs
b. Collaborate with campus stakeholders – including other staff members, faculty, university leadership, and others – to procure data
c. Help their assigned Assistant Director in analyzing the information gathered to improve and expand initiatives
4\. Curriculum Building and Facilitation
a. Assist an Assistant Director in designing and implementing workshops, courses, and other curricular offerings
5\. Training and Supervision
a. Actively participate in all trainings and meetings associated with the position

Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post\-secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Working Condition/Physical Demands:
This role is primarily desk\-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
1\. All roles will have alternating periods of sitting for prolonged periods of time, and being active during events
2\. Communicating with students and public in close proximity
3\. Lifting objects of up to 10 lbs. may be required
4\. Some tasks may be outdoors
5\. Some evening and weekend work will be required

Pay Rate
The base pay for Student Experience Ambassadors is $11\.30 per hour or equivalent to Ohio minimum wage.
Team members will receive a raise annually.
