We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Tax Expert, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or EA (Enrolled Agent) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your comprehensive tax knowledge and accounting expertise to provide exceptional tax preparation, planning, and consulting services to a diverse client base. Duties
- Prepare and review individual, business, and trust tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct detailed tax planning sessions to identify opportunities for deductions, credits, and strategic financial moves aligned with clients’ goals.
- Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger data to support accurate tax filings and financial reporting.
- Assist clients with estate planning strategies including wills, trusts, and estate law considerations to preserve wealth and minimize taxes.
- Perform complex account reconciliations such as balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Provide guidance on regulatory reporting requirements including SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) compliance for corporate clients.
- Support clients in areas like mergers \& acquisitions, private equity investments, asset management, and securities law compliance through detailed financial analysis.
- Utilize technical accounting skills such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), double entry bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounts payable management, and financial statement preparation.
- Interpret financial concepts to deliver clear insights through financial report writing and analysis that inform strategic decision\-making.
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations to ensure all client filings are compliant while maximizing benefits.
- Active CPA license or EA certification required; strong understanding of federal and state tax codes essential.
- Proven experience in tax experience with a focus on estate planning, corporate accounting, public accounting or related fields.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools; proficiency in financial software is a must.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards along with expertise in regulatory reporting such as SOX compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data including securities law implications and non\-profit accounting practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports accurately and perform detailed account reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts related to Wills, trusts \& estate law as well as investment strategies.
- Experience working with financial concepts such as budgeting, asset management, private equity investments, mergers \& acquisitions is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple client accounts efficiently.
