Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking a detail\-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and support various financial and human resources functions. Proficiency with payroll management systems, such as Paycom or similar HRIS, is highly desirable. This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of accounting principles, and experience with various financial software to ensure seamless payroll operations across different departments.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non\-profit environment.
  • Experience with financial concepts related to benefits administration, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.
  • Strong analysis skills for troubleshooting discrepancies and ensuring data integrity in payroll processing.
  • Ability to perform data entry accurately with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team where expertise will directly impact operational efficiency and compliance standards across the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and external agencies.
  • Employees must pass a background check, fingerprinting, info.flclearinghouse.com, and complete the Safeguarding God’s Children class.
  • Duties:

  • Process all aspects of payroll and benefits and deductions accurately and efficiently using multiple software platforms, including Paycom, Veracross and various websites.
  • Monitor various employment screenings and maintain employee data in appropriate databases.
  • Perform data entry related to employee hours, benefits administration, tax filings, and deductions.
  • Communicate benefit information to employees and answer related questions.
  • Support benefits administration by managing employee benefit deductions and contributions.
  • Reconcile and submit vendor invoices for payment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; prepare and file necessary reports.
  • Conduct analysis of payroll data for discrepancies or errors; implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with human resources to ensure proper onboarding, offboarding, and employee record updates.
