### Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist podiatrists in examining and treating patients with foot, ankle, and lower leg disorders.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and other necessary procedures.
- Collect and document patients' medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information.
- Provide hands\-on assistance during clinical procedures and treatments.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient check\-ins, and maintain patient records in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Educate patients on foot and ankle care and the use of corrective devices like orthotics and casts.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the clinical environment and equipment.
- Handle administrative duties such as billing, coding, and insurance claims accurately and timely.
- Maintain stock of medical supplies and reorder when necessary.
- Operate X\-ray, MRI, and other diagnostic equipment to assist the podiatrist with accurate diagnosis.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring effective sterilization of tools and equipment.
- Proven experience as a medical assistant in a podiatry clinic or similar healthcare setting.
- A certification in Medical Assisting or a relevant field strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, especially that related to podiatry.
- Proficient in using medical software and systems for patient management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of a medical assistant, including assisting with patient mobility and equipment transportation.
- Attention to detail for accurate data entry and management of sensitive patient information.
- A compassionate nature and the ability to empathize with patients' pain and discomfort.
- Commitment to adhering to ethical and legal standards in healthcare.
