Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Performing X\-ray imaging of the foot and ankle, scanning for custom orthotics
- Sterilization of medical instruments and turnover of examination rooms.
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records efficiently using medical office systems.
- Insurance pre\-authorization and surgical scheduling.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Support healthcare providers by preparing patient charts and assisting during examinations as needed.
- Perform general office duties including answering the phone, filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and customer service excellence.
- Ability to multitask in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is an advantage but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
