- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case preparation and strategy.
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Conduct thorough document review and data entry for case files, ensuring all records are current and properly filed within the firm’s filing systems.
- Support litigation processes by preparing case files, coordinating depositions, scheduling court appearances, and managing deadlines.
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing calendars for attorneys, scheduling meetings, and handling client communications.
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as needed to gather relevant information for ongoing cases or projects.
- Assist with project management tasks related to various practice areas like landlord\-tenant law, securities law, tribal regulations, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, immigration law, patent law, and others.
- Utilize legal case management software to track case progress and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and consistency; transcribe dictations or notes when required.
- Prior paralegal experience or legal administrative experience supporting attorneys in a busy law office environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, litigation, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), securities law, tribal law \& regulations, patent law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, landlord\-tenant law, and immigration law.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis is essential for effective case support.
- Experience with document review processes and legal case management systems such as iManage or PCLaw is highly advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents; proofreading accuracy is critical.
- Familiarity with clerical tasks such as data entry, filing systems (both physical and electronic), transcription services, and phone etiquette.
