Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail\-oriented Enrolled Agent to join our dynamic financial team. As an Enrolled Agent, you will serve as a trusted tax professional with the authority to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Your expertise in tax law, accounting principles, and financial analysis will be instrumental in providing comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical skills and passion for finance to help clients navigate complex tax situations efficiently and confidently.
Duties
- Prepare, review, and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and non\-profit organizations with precision and compliance.
- Represent clients during IRS audits, examinations, and appeals, ensuring their rights are protected through expert negotiation and advocacy.
- Provide detailed tax planning strategies tailored to clients’ financial goals, including estate planning, mergers \& acquisitions, and investment analysis.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues related to securities law, LIHTC (Low\-Income Housing Tax Credit), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act).
- Assist clients with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Perform comprehensive account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools for bookkeeping, payroll processing, asset management, and financial analysis.
- Support internal audits by conducting audit procedures aligned with public accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with clients on budgeting, financial planning, asset management strategies, and non\-profit accounting needs.
- Extensive knowledge of tax experience including tax accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Strong understanding of estate planning concepts such as wills, trusts \& estate law.
- Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms.
- Expertise in financial analysis—interpreting financial reports and conducting account analysis for informed decision\-making.
- Familiarity with securities law regulations and private equity or investment management practices.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with a solid foundation in GAAP standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience in auditing processes within public accounting environments or internal audit functions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex mergers \& acquisitions transactions with technical accounting acumen.
- Strong communication skills for preparing clear financial report writing and client advisories.
- Knowledge of payroll processing procedures along with non\-profit accounting practices is a plus.
