Job Description
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Residential Education and the Associate Director of the ROC, the House Advisor (HA)/Assistant Director of Housing is a 12\-month live\-in professional with dual roles working closely with the Associate Director of the Residential Operations Center (ROC) and the Director of Community Expectations and Housing. The HA oversees one residential house with approximately 300 residents and one apartment area. They supervise and work closely with all members of the House Team and House Fellow Interns. This position includes evenings and weekend responsibilities, and participation in the Administrative on Call rotation approximately every 5\-6 weeks. This position is reviewed annually with a maximum duration of four years with potential for a fifth year. Employment is contingent upon the successful result of a background search.
This position includes a 2\-3 bedroom apartment within a residential house on campus and a meal plan with 1,095 swipes.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate an inclusive, socially conscious residential environment by recruiting, selecting, training, evaluating, and advising student leadership teams, facilitating regular individual and group meetings, and partnering with House Fellows to deliver impactful house and campus\-wide programming while serving as a primary resource for students' holistic social, emotional, and academic needs.
- Facilitate student success through proactive relationship\-building and communal engagement, serving as a consistent resource and mentor within the residential environment, utilize the provided meal plan to dine with students regularly, fostering connections and building community.
- Oversee all housing transitions, including break stays, early arrivals/late departures, and the room\-change process, while ensuring accurate billing and occupancy data.
- Lead the spring housing draws and maintain timely, proactive communication regarding all departmental housing processes.
- Lead residential house transitions and safety protocols, performing detailed room checks, submitting maintenance requests, and partnering with Facilities and Safety personnel for routine inspections and drills.
- Design and implement training sessions for student leaders. Facilitate and support of our residential curriculum, H.O.M.E.
- Serve as a Student Conduct Administrator, implementing processes in an educational manner. Interpret and enforce college regulations governing student conduct within the houses.
- Communicate with department members and college wide offices to collaborate and facilitate programming support.
- Collaborate with cross\-functional departments and Campus Safety personnel to implement security protocols and ensure a safe campus experience for students.
- Contribute to campus\-wide success by providing operational coverage for large\-scale annual programs, supporting departmental tabling events, and serving on summer planning committees for the upcoming academic year.
- Oversee management of budget lines for your respective areas of oversight.
- Send important updates to the House as it relates to community concerns.
- Serve as a CARE Team representative and mediator for high\-level resident conflicts, overseeing wellness checks, emergency responses, and room changes while utilizing Maxient to track student conduct and resource referrals.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Two years of professional experience post\-baccalaureate degree in a related field or graduate\-level paraprofessional experience.
- Valid driver's license for at least 2 years.
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively with a diverse college community.
- Ability to maintain a professional, flexible problem\-solving demeanor during stressful situations.
- Ability to move about the campus to complete job responsibilities.
- Ability to move, position, and place items up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel within the local area.
- Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Prior student affairs experience and knowledge of identity development theories.
- One year of experience with crisis management and conflict resolution.
- One year of experience in ResLife, Student Affairs, or Higher Education Administration.

Compensation
The compensation for this position is $62,353\.20 per year.
