PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY
The Mentor Training Specialist supports the Mentor Program by coordinating training administration, tracking mentor and protégé compliance, and maintaining accurate records and reports. Working closely with the Mentor Training Supervisor, BPD trainers, and program leadership, this role ensures training activities are organized, data is reliable, and communication is timely. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting a culture of compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assists in inquiries to DFPS to acquire work history and training transcripts
- Assists in development of cohort training schedules
- Assists in assignment, data entry, and tracking of mentor/protégé pairings, protégé progress, and mentor training currency
- Develops and monitors Belong Professional Development Training Reports
- Assists in maintaining accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS), including entering completions, updating due dates, and uploading forms and assignments
- Supports data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, and record clean\-up projects to ensure database accuracy
- Generates reminder emails to staff regarding upcoming or overdue training deadlines using established templates
- Files and organizes digital and hard copy documentation in accordance with licensing and contractual requirements
- May assist in designing and developing mentor training curricula tailored to coaching and leadership
- May facilitate some informational meetings for new proteges (virtual).
- Assists in development of reports to the Director of TPD and senior leadership with actionable recommendations to mitigate risks
- Collaborates with trainers to address protege attendance, participation, and performance in Belong Professional Development classroom training
- Supports other programs with compliance\-related activities
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (experience may be considered as a substitute for education)
- General knowledge of LMS systems and generating reports.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License, safe driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
- Familiar with Relias LMS.

- Minimum 40 hours per week but may necessitate additional time to complete assigned work, which may include some evenings and weekends.
