Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will perform entry\-level duties supporting the coordination of clinical research studies and may receive training to prepare for advancement within the research series.

The incumbent may assist with the coordination of one or more single\- or multi\-site studies, including the NHLBI Growth and Health Study (NGHS), a long\-running longitudinal cohort examining the role of life course stress in cellular aging, metabolic syndrome, and intergenerational health outcomes among women and their offspring.

Responsibilities may include assisting with protocol preparation; developing data forms and source documents; applying eligibility criteria; recruiting, re\-engaging, enrolling, scheduling, and retaining study participants; collecting, processing, and shipping biological samples; interpreting laboratory and clinical data; maintaining participant schedules; completing regulatory and sponsor\-required study documentation; collecting, entering, and cleaning study data; assisting with data analysis and report preparation; attending team meetings; and performing other related duties as assigned.

In addition to supporting NGHS, the incumbent will assist with a project conducted by PI through the Center for Health and Community (CHC): the UC Climate Resilience Course, based at the UCSF Pritzker Building on the Mission Bay campus. This project addresses the mental health impacts of climate change among young adults by developing and evaluating a UC\-wide course focused on climate resilience, coping skills, and collective action.

Responsibilities for this project may include assisting with administrative and logistical coordination; scheduling and tracking study activities and follow\-up according to protocol; organizing team meetings; maintaining the study website; supporting class logistics and personnel coordination; assisting with dissemination efforts; and supporting management of course content and evaluation measures related to mental health, climate distress and hope, collective efficacy, and career interests. This position also includes light teaching assistant responsibilities supporting mindfulness instruction, and a mindfulness teaching certification is required.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $28\.48 \- $45\.80 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
  • Attention to details;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast\-paced, team\-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
  • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co\-workers, \& physicians.
  • Experience teaching mindfulness\-based practices
  • Experience performing administrative duties, including supporting the operation of a mindfulness\-based clinical trial with a focus on participant recruitment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology.
  • Experience working with patients or study subjects.
  • Ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases.
